Opere rivoluzionarie come “Aspettando Godot” di Samuel Beckett, “Ultima fermata Brooklyn” di Hubert Selby e “Pasto nudo” di William Burroughs rappresentarono un’avanguardia letteraria. Altrettanto innovative e, in definitiva, altrettanto influenti, le copertine dei libri della Grove Press riflettevano non solo l’opera al suo interno, ma anche lo spirito del tempo. La scrittura iconoclasta trovava eco nella confezione, un connubio tra immagini e parola scritta mai visto prima, o forse mai più dopo.
