Lou Fine was one of the most impressive and influential artists to ever work in comics. His fluid figures were admired and copied by such greats as Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. In addition to his impressive covers, he worked on such comics as the Black Condor; aka Richard Grey Jr. having lost his parents was raised by giant black condors and after studying his condor foster parents, he learned to fly. He befriended a hermit monk named Father Pierre who convinced him that he should use his unique attributes to do good and so was born the Black Condor. Lou Fine also created The Ray, a reporter named Hubert ‘Happy’ Terrill who was covering the story of a high-flying ‘strato-balloon’ exploring the upper atmosphere. An electrical storm struck and while closing the outer airlock door, ‘Happy’ got the full brunt of the storm’s energy and the unfiltered sunlight giving him his super powers to absorb energy from his surroundings and emit it from his body in any form he chose, also using it to propel himself through the air.

Lou Fine è stato uno degli artisti piĂą impressionanti e influenti ad aver mai lavorato nel mondo dei fumetti. Le sue figure fluide erano ammirate e copiate da grandi come Joe Simon e Jack Kirby. Oltre alle sue straordinarie copertine, ha lavorato a fumetti come Black Condor; alias Richard Grey Jr., dopo aver perso i genitori, fu cresciuto da giganteschi condor neri e, dopo aver studiato i suoi genitori adottivi, anch’essi condor, imparò a volare. Fece amicizia con un monaco eremita di nome Padre Pierre, che lo convinse a usare le sue doti uniche per fare del bene e così nacque Black Condor. Lou Fine creò anche The Ray, un reporter di nome Hubert “Happy” Terrill che stava seguendo la storia di uno “strato-pallone” ad alta quota che esplorava l’atmosfera superiore. Una tempesta elettrica colpì e, mentre chiudeva la porta esterna della camera di equilibrio, “Happy” ricevette tutta l’energia della tempesta e la luce solare non filtrata gli conferì i super poteri di assorbire energia dall’ambiente circostante ed emetterla dal suo corpo in qualsiasi forma desiderasse, usandola anche per spingersi in aria.
